The vehicle is the first of the L460 model in the Range Rover line and boasts clean and contemporary surfaces that contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.30 – making it the most fuel-efficient luxury SUV in the world.

In addition, the vehicle comes with a choice of powerful and electrified six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, as well as a 38.2kWh lithium-ion battery. The vehicle also offers drivers the option to run it as a fully electric or conventional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle.

Speaking during the launch event held at the Jaguar Land Rover Showroom, Inchcape Kenya Managing Director Francis Agbonlahor noted that the vehicle upholds its reputation of pioneering innovation with the suite of technologies designed to enhance convenience, efficiency and safety.

“The new Range Rover L460 incorporates Software-Over-The-Air (SOTA) updates meaning the vehicle will constantly evolve and remain up to date as it matures. Further, to differentiate the new Range Rover from its predecessors, the car has Amazon Alexa integrated in it for a seamless in car experience. Alexa capabilities will allow drivers to check the news, weather, scheduled meetings, infotainment features, music selection and phone contacts using simple voice commands, all while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road,” said Ibrahim

Hussein further noted that “Customers’ comfort, convenience and well being are the center of priority for the new Range Rover. The vehicle leverages lessons learned over 50 years of evolution and combines them with cutting edge technologies to deliver comfort and safety. The car comes with a pre-emptive suspension that primes it for upcoming corners, headrest speakers which offer next-generation noise cancelling and new and clean air technology that significantly reduces odours and viruses – creating one of the quietest, most relaxing, modern luxury travelling experiences yet”

Additional specifications that make the vehicle the ultimate SUV experience include the Adaptive Cruise Control and the Steering Assist which smooth out body movements resulting from sudden changes in speed. The fully independent suspension features Land Rover’s first ever five-link rear axle, which isolates the cabin from surface imperfections more effectively than advanced air springs.

The new L460 model is built to deliver capability in varied surroundings ranging from busy city streets, remote rural tracks and soft desert sand. Its dynamic technologies run by the new Integrated Chassis Control System automatically assist the driver and deliver Land Rover’s most refined and intelligent capability yet.

The vehicle’s body is 50 per cent stiffer than before, creating a safe and strong body designed to accommodate the new 23-inch wheels – a first for Land Rover – and 815mm diameter wheel combinations.
